Lift Chairs - How to Make the Right Choice for You
Choosing a lift chair is a daunting prospect. There are so many to choose from.
And when the salesman start talking about all those technical features - infinite positions, dual motors, linear actuators, thermal cutouts...
It's enough to put you to sleep.
So to help you make the choice that is right for you all you have to do is answer these simple questions. After that it is simply choosing the one that feels and looks right to you. (But I still bet you will come back to the Pride DMR-670 - it really is that good).
About You
- What is the nature and extent of your disability?
- How long each day will you spend in the chair?
- How tall are you?
- How much do you weigh?
In general, the less your disability the less time you are likely to be in the chair each day. In this case it may be that a 2 or 3 position chair is OK. You may be happy with less luxurious upholstery too. For my money I would still buy the infinite position chairs - they are more flexible - and lots more fun :)
Your height is important as lift chairs have a limited range of lift and tilt when helping you stand up. Pride has a range of luxury chairs to suit all heights.
Weight is not usually a consideration. If you weigh more than 375lbs you will need to make sure your supplier is aware of this.
About Your Home
- What size is the room in which you need the lift chair?
- What colours predominate?
- What fabrics do you like?
Lift chairs do take up a fair bit of room. You need to be sure that your room is big enough. Remember too to allow room for the reclining and lift actions. In general, most rooms will accommodate a lift chair. Sometimes you may have to move some smaller items of furniture or ornaments to enjoy the full benefits available.
About your supplier
Buying a reclining lift chair is a major expense. You must be confident in your supplier before making the purchase. This is particularly true if you are buying over the internet.
- Do they have a solid reputation for quality, reliability and delivery?
- Do they provide a telephone help and advice service? And what hours does it operate?
- If you are buying from the web do you also have a telephone number you can call?
- Do they keep the products in stock?
- What delivery times do they quote?
- Is delivery included in the price?
I know that my preferred supplier All Lift Chairs fulfils these requirements and more.
So once you have answered these questions why not check out All Lift Chairs.
And I am still betting that you will choose the Pride DMR-670.
